The best way to see the upper reaches of the stunning Glen Canyon is to be “on the move” on a boat on Lake Powell. The Colorado River was dammed above the Grand Canyon, creating the lake.
What’s that speck in our wake?
Jet skiers having fun jumping our wake!
The only way to see Rainbow Bridge is by boat. The rock arch is static, not fitting this week’s theme, but I’m sure the people – see tiny dots at base of the left side of the arch – are “on the move!”
I’m a bit slow off the mark with this challenge as they are published each Friday and it’s Wednesday already. My brain is a bit sluggish. I seem to have been struck with some strange virus that most affects me from the neck up – headache, earache, nose-ache! and eye-ache! It’s like a cold that hasn’t come out except for the occasional volcanic sneeze that makes himself jump and utter obscenities.
Gazing at old photos seems all I’m capable of at the moment.
For details of the challenge, push the blue button!
Hector and I have had allergies this past few weeks too (he never had any before). Hope you feel better. We rented a houseboat years ago in Lake Powell just for a couple of days – the sunsets are beautiful with the colors on the rocks changing.

Oh that sounds amazing! The boat trip, not the allergies. I was fine for a week then went out this morning and haven’t stopped running (not with my feet) since! Hope you are feeling better too!

It seems the bug is only out West, you are the nth person that is currently east of MS I know that is sick or something. Stay Well 🙂

I’ve always wanted to see the treasures of Glen Canyon from the water — that’s a beautiful shot of Rainbow Bridge. We’re in southeast Arizona and I’m being tortured with allergies, too — mostly crazy sneezing fits. Who would think of allergies in the desert???

I’m sneezing as I read this! I’ve never had allergies before and I don’t much care for them. 😦

The jet skiers followed us for some time jumping our wake. We had a more sedate ride!

That looks like awesome place to ride around in a boat.

It was amazing. I’d like to have had a houseboat holiday there. Not much wildlife but wonderful colors in the rocks, lake and sky!

Thanks so much. I’m sorry too! I wonder if a ride on that jet ski would clear my head?

I don’t know about clearing your head but it would certainly be exhilarating!

Thank you. I’d like to be “one the move” without all this stuff going on in my head!

Fab on the move photos Carol. I would have liked to have gone to see the Rainbow Bridge, but boats weren’t running in March when we were there. I have heard though that is is quite a trek from the boat to the bridge – how did you find it?
Hope you feel better soon – sounds like a head cold, or sinusitis! Nasty…

Good excuse to sit around, read blogs and drink tea.
It was a long trek from the boat to Rainbow Bridge and VERY hot hot that day. Worth it tho! 🙂

. . . . and I’ve just remembered – I first saw Lake Powell on a travel documentary with Stephen Fry many, many years ago. He was in a houseboat with a Jacuzzi. We had a less flamboyant trip.

Sounds like allergies. I’m hearing that they are running rampant in our neck of the woods. They’ve laid me low for months now… 😥
