Really enjoy your poems for boys and girls. Almost makes me wish for grandchildren. I’m most unlikely to have any of those (grandkids) and am at peace with my son’s decision except for once a week when your poems arrive!
PS Obviously it’s us who were hiking, not the cows. Although you never know if you might bump into a cow with a backpack these days, what with mad cow disease, milk quotas and all that.
I have a rule that I won’t argue with anything that outweighs me by several hundred pounds and has horns 🙂

Wise move – we got charged at by a herd of cows on a hike this summer, it was well scary.

We were in a big SUV. We had size on our side, but we would both have screamed like girls if it had charged.

I don’t really know. He didn’t look like he wanted to have a conversation so I’m guessing he was wild as we were in a National Park.

Agreed! We gave him a pretty wide berth. We didn’t know if he was just obstinate or up for a shoving match.

I wouldn’t want those horns in the side of my truck but I’ll take that kind of traffic jam to the Chicago one any day 🙂
